The book combines a series of pictures of my hometown, Casablanca, with extracts from my journal.
They were written at a time where I was experiencing the passing of a relationship: emotions fluctuate and they are contradictory. Anger meets nostalgia. Loss of purpose meets sense-making. The city, Casablanca, near the beach, feels both lonely and crowded. Windows are closed, buildings are abandoned, and yet families are bathing by the beach.
Emotions, people, are impermanent.
There's nothing we can fully grasp, and solid security does not exist.
But the point is to experience it all.
